Wendy’s Subway members form the core of the WS community. In addition to supporting their own reading and writing practices, members help us keep the lights on and the doors open; support our free and sliding-scale events, reading groups, and workshops; and facilitate the work of artists, writers, and thinkers through our residency program, our publications, and our annual initiative, The Quick & the Dead. Membership also supports the preservation, cataloging, and growth of our library. Above all, membership helps to make Wendy's Subway a more sustainable, long-lasting organization.
Members make Wendy’s Subway an accessible, creative space for everyone.
The Wendy’s Subway space, located at 379 Bushwick Avenue, is lined floor-to-ceiling with over 3,000 books. The collection is non-circulating, and free to consult on site. The space is equipped with high-speed WiFi, multiple printers, a PA system, and projector set-up. Members are welcome to keep books on reserve on special members-only shelves, and to use the kitchenette (fridge, microwave, tea and coffee friendly). There’s always a staff member around to help.
