About the event

Free with RSVP.

This listening session at Wendy's Subway, facilitated by Esra Canoğulları (8ULENTINA), attunes participants to improvisation and collaboration in sonic practices beyond the Western canon. Through collective listening to selected performances from Syria, Lebanon, and Turkey, alongside excerpts from Esra's own collaborative work, the session explores how these methods reshape our understanding of sound and experimentation.

This program is organized as part of a weekend-long, multi-venue convening that engages the edited anthology A Grammar Built with Rocks. Additional events include The Trace of Land, a screening of short films at Anthology Film Archives on Friday, January 23; a reading group, conversation, and performances at the Center for Art, Research and Alliances (CARA) on Saturday, January 24; and an After Hours Film School workshop with Wendy's Subway on Sunday, January 25.
